It
would be no exaggeration to say that modern people are surrounded by full of television
and movies. That would be different opinions concerning whether they have optimistic
or pessimistic effects on children’s behavior. In my opinion, However, I
strongly believe that they influence children positively for the following two
subsequent reasons which I am going to elaborate on.
To
begin with, there is no question that they broaden the perspective of people.
To be specific, they have many channels and genres which provide people with
various opportunities to face new intriguing knowledge. According to a study
carried out in 2009 at the University of Seoul, it showed the benefits of
watching television and movies in terms of them improving participant’s views. To
put it concretely, the research team contrasted them by dividing the subjects
into two groups whether watching television or not. Surprisingly, the result
showed that the group that enjoyed television scored in a test for checking
their views three times as high as the other. Putting it succinctly, it indicated
how positive it played a crucial role for the most part.
On
top of that, it is evident that they play an important role in terms of language
learning. When you learn new language, the most important thing is to
experience the language as much as possible. In this sense, television or movies
can be very helpful in helping you listen to it with enjoyment. To elaborate in
detail, by the way of example, I love to watch drama with television in English
to learn it. It is always big pleasure to teach myself English by watching
drama such as “Friends”, “How I met your mother”, etc, since it allows me to
enjoy the dramas and to study English at the same time. Consequently, based on
my experience, I would like to say that watching television or films makes a
positive impact on children.
To
sum up, taking all those into consideration, television and movies have many
merits. In this regard, I am of the firm opinion that watching television and
movies has more positive effects than negative effects on
children's behavior
