▶ Your Answer :
The internet is a powerful source of information; with countless websites, there is nothing one cannot find. Whilst many are still making an effort in arguing that the internet is a pool of waste, contaminated by a huge amount of unreliable information, it is of no doubt that in reality, the vast amount of information on the internet is beneficial. The internet is a valuable source, since they give individuals an easy access to information, that one cannot acquire elsewhere.
First of all, the internet has made it easier and faster to access various forms of worthy resources. With the internet as a tool, ones can now save time and effort on simply acquiring the information they need. They no longer need to go to the shelves of a library for a research. In the past, ones had to get to the library, search in the catalog, wander through the shelves to find a book, and then read through it to get information. However, today, one only has to put in the effort of typing in the keyword in a search engine for thousands of websites with quality information. Simply conducting a research within the span of a few seconds has become possible. Hence, because the internet has made it much more effective time-wise for one to get to the information they are seeking for, it can be considered as a valuable source of information.
In addition, the internet has the value of not only possessing quantitatively large amount of information but is also filled with up-to-date information. A book can only contain certain amount of information, and a library can only hold a limited number of books. It also takes time for a book to be written, published, and be shelved in a library. However, there is no restrictions to the amount of information the internet can hold — it only keeps growing day by day. With the free access to writing online being open for all, such as personal blogs, it is even possible for researchers to figure the true opinion of mass public. These information is something impossible to find elsewhere. On top of that, the internet is constantly getting updated, through thousands of news articles getting posted every hour. These information is something one cannot get directly off a shelf at a library. In this sense, where the internet contains resources that physically printed books cannot, thus, the internet is definitely, priceless.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that the internet is a precious database of information, since not only is it the easiest source of information, but also because the internet gives ones access to a vast, yet up-to-date information that one would not be able to get on a paper-book.
