Some people think that
competitive is the best reason when it comes to playing sports for children.
However, in my opinion, children should play sports not for learning competition,
but for pursuing enjoyment. Sports can account for children’s positive develop in their body, and competition in
sport between children is not even.
To begin with, sports are
basically for exercise and healthy body. Children can usually advance their
body and make the body more stronger than ever before through activities such as
moving and jumping in exercise. Also, people usually say that competitive
sports in childhood can cause serious stress because it triggers pressure of winning.
It is bad for health especially to juvenile. Due to this negative effect in
sports, 80 percent of physical education teachers responded that the primary
goal of sports is exercise and training children’s body to a
poll.
On top of that, competition
is not fair. Because children have different speed of their body development
each other, kids don’t have same size and strength. Also, they have
varying height and weight. Thus, it is self-evident that sports competition
between kids can’t be impartial. Someone will have advantage due
to his or her peculiarity such as tall height, and strong power than his or her
colleagues. Take the example of my cousin, who is smaller than her same age
group. She had opportunity to participate in wrestling matches. Of course she
lost wrestling competition against bigger kids in her peers. She felt depressed
through the fail caused by partial competition.
To sum up, when it comes to
playing game for children, competition must not be priority during doing sports
because main function of sports is training body and competitive sports between
children is not impartial. In this regard, I firmly believe that children
should try physical activity for fun rather than for matching.
