Many people believe that the best films are those that provide lessons about real life. However, in my opinion, this isn't necessarily true. Admitting that films that give instructions and wisdom are good, they tend to be boring and there are lots of films that have advantages. To begin with, a film should be a way of having fun. We go to theater when we're free and for most us, watching movies is just a hobby. Considering this situation, people would be hesitant to go to movies when films always try to instruct people about real life. For example, when I was in middle school, a teacher of mine used to play movies in the classroom. She would told us we can learn a lot of things about life by watching movies she's playing. At first, all of the classmates liked it, but as time goes by, they all slept. While those films are beneficial, it is far from being the best. On top of that, there are so many good movies except the ones that provide you with lessons. All types of movies have their own merits. All we have to do is just to make the best of watching whatever films we like. For example, I like to go to movies with my friends for action movies. And one day, we watched the Avengers. During the movie, we just totally lost the track of time and forgot about everything. It was so refreshing and invigorating, not to mention funny. After the show, we talked about the movie on end and it helped us to strengthen our bonds with each other. Even if I had watched it alone, it would have greatly relieved my stress from everyday life. To sum up, didactic films are sometimes too tedious to enjoy and there are splendid sorts of films we can choose from. In this regard, I hold that for a film to be the best, it doesn't have to teach people about real life. |
