Words
alone cannot express the importance of higher education. One should not,
however, fall prey to the misconception that, in the past, parents have more
interests for their children’s grade. I, therefore, strongly agree with the
statement that parents have a huge level of participation in their children's
education in these days. There are two reasons that underscore the validity of
this statement.
Firstly, nowadays, better education is the critical
point to live peaceful life and to get a good job. Most of the parents already
know about this harsh realities that
taking a higher education and entering prestigious university are really
important. They have lived 2 or 3 times longer than their children. During their
whole lives, they deeply felt many discriminations
about education in our societies. Children, on the other hand, just
understand little part of the fact, because they are young students and they have
not been experienced outer real world lives such as company, business, etc. In additionally,
due to the tough job finding of recently years, parents more push their
children to get higher grade and to enter the prestigious university than
before.
Secondly,
in the past, taking a public education is enough for students to enter the good
university and to get good job opportunity. In contrast, nowadays, public
education like school teaching has lower quality of teaching than private
academy. Although private academy is a pretty expensive, parents let their children
take that personal classes or private academic classes. This is because parents
already know the recently real world as I mentioned above. They just want their
children live comfortable life and get success through the result of higher
education. In these situations, parents’ higher involvement for their children is
inevitable result from the current education system.
As
I have mentioned above, parents have more interests in their children's
education than before. The importance of better education in our society can
never be overestimated, so I would like to urge people to wake from the illusion
that, in the past, parents more highly concerns their children's education than
now. I would not think twice before choosing to do so.
