While the technological development has drastically changed the ways people live nowadays, one of realms in life it had impact on is the shopping habits of the modern consumers. Every year, the market is flooded with cutting-edge devices, intriguing shoppers around the world and tempting them to buy them. However, whether people buy them immediately or wait for some period differs to the decisions of individuals. While some people tend to buy a new technological device as soon as they are released, it is better to take some time of consideration and purchase it later after many people have used it. To begin with, it is highly likely for the price of the product to drop in few months. The price of the most products dwindle for some percentage due to the fact that there are about to be faced by better and cheaper devices in just a few years or sometimes, even months. When a new good with more features and lower price becomes available to the market, the companies are forced to lower the price in order to increase the sale. For example, the first completely foldable smart phone, 'Galaxy Fold', by Samsung was first released with many critics acclaiming it. It was first released with the price tag of over two thousand dollars which was extremely expensive for a single mobile phone. However, soon after its release, competing mobile phone brands started to flood to market with similar foldable phones, some of which having even more surprising functions. As a result, the Korean company was forced to cut the price to about fifteen hundred dollars as a way of improving the sales of the product. Likewise, when the consumer waits for few months until many people have bought it, they can purchase the exact same product with a much less cash. On top of that, waiting until many people have bought the product ensures the overall satisfaction about the device. After its initial release, every product lacks reviews from the real customers; What buyers can look for is usually reviews, which were funded by the company to show only the bright side of the product. When people buy the good only based on these unconvincing reviews, they are vulnerable to be unsatisfied with it. On the other hand, after few moments have passed, the Internet is filled with responses and detailed articles about how the actual device performed or functioned in the hand of the real consumers. By thoroughly reading these wide range of informative reviews, one can decide more precisely what they really need, thus leading to the increase in the satisfaction after buying it. For instance, when the famous video game player 'Play Station Four' was released, I urged to buy it immediately. However, with my friend's advice that I should wait for the reviews, I decided to wait for a few weeks. After its release, the reviews were mostly pessimistic about the new gaming console. Therefore, I decided to buy another player from another company called X-box 360, as it had better reviews and features that would fit my type of game playing more. The result was really satisfactory. Thus, by gaining an access to the reactions from the others, it can be beneficial to the consumer in the satisfaction of the product. In conclusion, it is wiser for the people to wait for a certain amount of time before purchasing the new technological device. By waiting, the consumers can take advantage of price dropping of the device. In addition to that, they can search for a number of reviews of the actual products, guaranteeing for the product to perform in the exact way they wanted it to. Thus, whenever you see anyone grabbing their cash and trying to rush to the store to buy new stuffs, tell them it would benefit them in long-term if they can wait for a few days or weeks. |
