▶ Your Answer : The controversy over school education is ongoing. Some parents and teachers believe that a coeducational school is good for students. However, others agree with separating male and female students. In my opinion, both viewpoints have pros and cons. This essay will discuss this subject as follows. There are several merits dividing male and female students. Above all, single-sex school students can learn something more comfortably. In reality, it is proper that they feel attraction on each other in adolescence. This can lead students to distract studying and interrupt their school lives. For instance, males who have a crush on females in the class may concentrate on writing love letters, instead of accomplishing their assignments. According to studies, a single-sex school students have better score than a mixed school students. Consequently, academic environment can be made for students as separating male and female students and they can focus on their studying. On the contrary, male and female students studying at different schools also encounter some problems. Single-sex school can not provide students with the opportunity to interact with opposite sex. As a result, graduates discover that it is difficult to share ideas and opinions in social life. As a matter of fact, the formation years of children is the best time to prepare for adult life and learn how to mingle with and converse with other students regardless of gender. In this respect, a school for both genders provide many chances to students to interact with their standpoints in a variety of topics. This induces students to social life in the future. In conclusion, we have many good and bad points of mixed and single-sex schools. In my opinion, however, advantages of a co-ed school are far outweigh its disadvantages. In this point, it is persuasive for parents and teachers to promote coeducational education. |
