▶ Your Answer : It is debatable whether leadership is a born-gift; people cannot
learn to be a leader. This is an intriguing question because opinions concerning
this issue can be different from people’s perspectives. In my opinion, however,
I support that leadership is not a born-gift and people can learn to be a
leader for the following reasons.
First of all, People can learn about leadership which is required
many qualities because people can do social activities in family and school. To
be specific, children learn their duty such as household chores and washing dishes
from their parents which as a result allows children can learn responsibility.
Also, students engage in many projects assigned in classes and participate in team sports during a physical
education class. Through this experience, students can learn co-operation and realize
their role in the team. To illustrate, when I was in college, my professor assigned
group projects and I became team leader by voting. It was my first experience
that I become a leader. I worried that if I do not lead my team well, our team
project gets lower scores from the professor. Therefore, I concentrate on my team project
and cheered up other members who do not pay attention on the project. Finally, our
team project got ‘A’ and my team member told me that I was the best leader and thanks
to my efforts out team acquire great results. Through this experience, I learned
about the qualities of leadership. Therefore, many experiences that people can go
through in school and home makes people learn about leadership. Leadership is
not a born-gift.
Also, people can realize leadership through their effort to
learn leadership because people put more effort to learn about leadership. In
other words, modern society is increasingly becoming competitive and meritocracy,
people want to be a leader in order to survive a competitive environment. Therefore,
they try to discover their qualities such as charisma, consideration, courage. For
instance, Steve jobs who is the founder of Apple has made great accomplishments
in his lifetime. I read online that he was very successful because he always put
all of his effort into tried becoming leader and leads other people using great
ways. He did this by considering other people’s opinions and having the responsibility
to succeed in his major. These efforts made him to be a leader and succeed in a competitive society. It is legitimate to say that people want to be a leader in
order to succeed in today’s world and they actively find ways to be a leader.
Therefore, leadership is not a talent.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that anyone
can be a leader through their efforts. Leadership is not a born-gift. All things
considered, my argument regarding this topic has been precisely and effectively
delivered with the reasons mentioned above. Never should we forget that this
topic may have huge impact on our future. |
