Undoubtedly, TV ads play a significant role in children's daily lives in many of the places when they watch television. Some people think that letting children watch TV ads is harmful to them because these present inappropriate scenes for children under five, while others think differently. Both have plausible reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose one side, I would say that there shows nothing negative effects on children under 5 years old. There are several reasons as follows.
First and foremost, permitting children below 5 years old to watch television ads provides no malicious effects. Many people assume allowing those children to consume TV ads would give them a certain noxious phenomenon on their brains. However, my personal experience shows any significant signs of these. For example, when I was under 5-year-old, I used to be fond of watching the ads since these songs and scenes were all enticing. Every time I saw the ads, I mimicked rhymes and songs so that I could emulate actors/actresses. However, I cannot see any bad effects that occurred by watching television, rather I excelled in classes when I was in college and there is no problem at all at my workplace. As a result, it has irrelevant to negative effects of whether young children, especially under the age of five, are allowed to watch TV ads.
Moreover, TV ads provide a developmentally nutrient environment toward young children. The ads are consisting of songs, memes, and interesting acts. Since TV ads are intriguing people, children under 5 years old also get interested when they watch these, which leads them to simulate. By doing this, they start to speak a word and more. Besides, they begin to sing a song memorizing memes and rhymes. The more children such as toddlers or infants are exposed to TV ads, the more they would be likely to enhance their developmental processes. For instance, when my brother was 4 years old, he used to like watching TV, mainly his remote controller adhered to animation channels. However, the most favorable things that he wanted to see were not actually animations but the ads broadcasting intermittently. Whenever he watched these, he swung his arms and legs with the cadences of music, sometimes sang a song. By frequently exposed to the ads, he was able to acquire not only oral skills but also singing skills far faster than other children. All other my mom's friends who started to raise toddlers then followed her precedence and applied it to their children. All in all, letting children under the age of five to watch TV ads showed beneficial effects contrary to common sense.
In this regard, I firmly believe that banning children under 5 years old from watching TV ads has no advantage because it not only presented no harmful effects but also provided with developmental benefits to children as I suggested from my personal experiences. |
