▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, paradigms are shifted as time
goes by. Likewise, in every field of society, there has been a seismic change from working in cooperation to individual. Some people believe that teamwork is still the
utmost value in modern days, while others think that the opinion is outdated.
Both have plausible reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose
one, I consent with the latter that cooperation is not as significant as it was
in the past. There are several reasons as follows.
First and foremost, thanks to technological
advancement, people do not have to work in a team. To be specific, computers
and tablets have paved ways for people to act individually at work especially. Since working cooperatively occurs conflicts, quarrels, mitigating between
people, and so on, which make people easily feel fatigued, they tend to work
alone if it is affordable. Therefore there shows a great propensity that people
dessert the past way of work, so-called cooperation. For example, my uncle had run
an automobile factory until 5 years ago. Oftentimes, workers made a terrible issue
within the neighbors, some of them were very contentious that not a day had
just passed smoothly. However, he had cared his team full-heartedly with
dispatching them to extra educational institutions, giving more wage than they
had to get and considering them as a member of the family. Therefore, moved by
uncle’s sincerity, all employees faithfully worked at the factory. However, the
advent of the computer changed the atmosphere. After they realized that they
could earn money by just opening their websites through the internet, they
started to quit one by one. It was 5 years ago when the last man of fidelity
remained until my uncle decided to close the factory. The primary reason why
they left was, later said, they were fed up with cooperating and putting up with others' temperaments.
Besides, it became much easier to get a
monthly budget if one works individually compared to working in a company
requiring cooperation. In the past, people received more money when they work
in groups, which needed teamwork. Now, it became not only much more effective
when one works alone but also profitable and the current zeitgeist demands the
uniqueness than cooperation. For instance, my brother, Jack, once a famed
pro-gamer, now broadcasts an individual channel through Youtube. Though his
whole career could not reach more than 3 years, his income is quadruple than my
father who has worked in his career for 30 years and took the most promising job in his 20s. What my brother has to do is
just adjusting a microphone, turning a computer on, and playing games. Whereas
my father works at least 10 hours a day to wage money as an upper manager that
requires considerable cooperative skills, doing coordinating daily segments for
other workers, directing to be cooperative, supervising his teammates whether
they are doing well, and so on. This hiatus critically shows why cooperation in
modern days is not assumed as important than previously.
All in all, I firmly believe that cooperation is
not pivotal nowadays since technology development allows people to work alone
and it doesn’t guarantee a high salary as in the past. In this regard, the
advantages of working alone in the current world far outweigh those of working
in cooperation as I have mentioned above. |
