I agree with the statement that there is no better way to get to know a country than by going to museums. This is because museums have many historical resources, provide detailed information, and hold events that make people more knowledgeable about the country.
First, museums have many historical resources that help people understand country's culture. As most of the historic records and pieces (단/복수) of work are preserved, museums are the optimal place to know country's history. For instance, by going to the national museum in Korea, foreigners can understand Korean history from ancient time to today through watching thousands of relics.
Second, museums provide detailed information related to its theme of the gallery. In museum, it is (줄임말 사용을 지양해주세요) easy to find audio guide or museum tour, which gives (주어 동사 불일치) visitors an explanation about the things in the museum. For instance, in art museum, the audio guide informs people on artworks hung on the wall. It tells us about the story behind the work, how the work was interpreted in the past, and what the work was inspired by. This gives an insight of country's cultures in the past with detailed description on things that people may have missed when observing by themselves.
Lastly, museums often hold events that allow people to indirectly experience a (관사 필요합니다) country's culture. In my case, I visited Seoul arts center frequently in my childhood to learn how to play the Korean traditional instrument, Jang-gu. While I leaned how to play the instrument, I was naturally exposed to Korean tradition such as traditional music, instruments, and even Korean custom and ideology. This experience allowed me to know more about Korea that I had not learned in my daily life.
To sum up, museums do provide people an opportunity to be engaged in the country's culture through resources, detailed explanation on those, and programs. In this regard, museums are the best way to get to know a country. |
