Although the government and the people are aware of the importance of the education, they cannot spend all resources for it since the time and the assets are limited. Rather, they allocate priority according to the efficiency of each stage of education. There are ongoing debates (단수/복수) about a priority issue. While some people argue that higher education such as college education is the most important education course, others think that children’s education is more important than college education. In my opinion, since children’s education is more important, the government should invest more money in children’s education than in college students for the subsequent two reasons.
To begin with, one’s whole life depends on one’s children's education. To be specific, one’s moral and personality form in one’s childhood. Moreover, it will not be changed once it is formed. In this sense, the government should spend more money on children than on college students. For example, my friend has failed to change his shy characteristic that is formed in his childhood. Because (because 로 문장을 시작하지 말아주세요) his father and the kindergarten teacher were too strict to him, he was not even able to express his opinion, thus became shy. After he was independent from his father, he tried to change his shy personality by doing exercise or making many friends. However, he failed to change his shy personality that was formed in his childhood. As a result, he still has shy characteristic. I think it is the perfect example of how early education forms one’s personality. Regarding this example, the government should spend more money on children’s education than on college education.
Another reason I contend this idea is that college education is not an essential part of education. To be specific, early education such as kindergarten education and elementary education is essential since it is critical to one’s life. However, college education is not as critical as early education. For example, only a few high-income careers such as an engineer or a computer programmer require an undergraduate degree. Other careers, such as a public officer, a police officer, a storekeeper, and a firefighter do not require that. In other words, people can get a job without an (모음 앞 관사 a -> an) undergraduate degree. Furthermore, people can attend a university after they earn enough money to finance school. This clearly shows that we should prioritize children’s education more than college education.
To sum up, It is clear that the government should spend more money on children’s education than on college students. This is because children’s education impacts one’s whole life, and college education is not an essential factor (essential: 형용사). In this sense, I firmly believe that the government should invest more money in elementary education than in college education.
