▶ Your Answer : Unquestionably, purchasing plays a significant role in people's daily lives in many of the places where they work or play. There are many factors which affect people's purchasing, such as a recommendation from friends, information from magazines, and review from online communities. If I had to choose one, I would say that the information from mediums like magazines has the greatest impact on people's choices. There are several reasons as follows. Above all, magazines contain numerous advertisements which have a great influence on people's choices. As modern society is rapidly becoming competitive especially in marketing, advertisers avoid providing information that may deter people from buying their products and just focus on their attractive sides to promote their salary. This skewed information tends to prevent people from purchasing the right products for their needs. For example, University's Tomorrow, which is the most influential magazine for the twenties, includes countless commercials as well as their articles. Among them, Twix advertisement describes their candy bar as a super-effective energizer. In that advertisement, people easily gain energy every time they take a bite of the candy bar during break time. By eating it, they stop dozing off, stay more alert, and focus better on their tasks. However, in reality, many people suffer from health problems such as diabetes and overweight that stem from eating candy bars, which contains sugar, fats, and calories. In fact, one of my friends who sawed that advertisement bought the candy bar, thinking that it will give him energy effectively. He usually thinks that the advertisement in magazines is credible considering it as reliable official information. He thinks that friends' recommendations and reviews from online communities are difficult to believe because those are individual's subject opinions. Without biased information on magazines, people including my friend would be able to purchase healthier foods. In brief, I strongly believe that the impact of information from magazines far outweigh the impact of recommendations from friends and reviews from online communities for several reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, this trend will be continue and down to the next generation.
