6. The professor explains how cooperation among animals occurs by giving two examples.
First, she describes prey capture. For example, a bottlenose dolphin divides their role when hunting. Out of 5 or 6 members, 1 dolphin drives fishes toward others that form barriers to prevent fishes the fish from escaping. Also the dolphin that is in charge of driving the fish also makes loud noises, which makes it easier for other dolphins to snatch the fish fishes.
Second, she describes predator avoidance. For example, an anchovies travels in groups. When a predator comes close to the group, a few of the group detect the predator and respond immediately to avoid the predator. This evasive action is subsequently followed by other fish fishes, leading to the increased possibility of escape.
These examples demonstrates two cooperative behaviors among animals.
