모두 off topic이 떳는지...
문제) local community의 natural environment를 protect and improve 위해 어떤걸 해야하는지..
Planting tree and create park
Increasing access transportation 해서, reduce automobile
The majority of people in their early to mid-twenties are under the illogical and stereotypical assumption that planting tree and create park or not providing plastic bag is good to protect and improve our natural environment. This notion, however, does not reflect the stance that I hold and should be thought about in different light. I believe that reducing cars by increasing access transportation is good to protect natural environment because it enables to reduce air pollution in a short time and effectively.
First of all, it is essential to think about reducing air pollution in a short time. This is because it has been a topic on various social network websites such as Twitter and Facebook, with people holding different opinions. Last May, I was highly active on Twitter and I encountered heated online discussions. Initially, I thought that that planting tree and create park is good to protect and improve our natural environment. However, upon further reflection, my interest on this topic increased which led me to read relevant tweet feeds. A common point people shared was that if people plant tree and create park to protect natural environment, they have to wait a long time. This was quite an issue for them since it made them feel frustrated because it was hard to wait a long time until growing the tree. This was enough to change my initial thought and I learned that reducing cars by increasing access transportation is good to protect natural environment.
Second, another important point that should be brought up is reducing air pollution effectively. Interestingly, a renowned social scientist in Korea published in The Korea Herald last Monday which claims that increasing access transportation and reducing cars is a good way to protect natural environment. His studies were particularly interesting because it supported my view. The survey claimed that 91 percent of 200 young Korean professionals in their early to mid-twenties preferred reducing cars by increasing access transportation to disputing with people who receive inconvenience which is about not providing plastic bag as the most preferred way of protect natural environment. The paradigm shift encouraged people to think that reducing cars was the most important in order to protect natural environment effectively. I thought this report because the results of the survey resonated with my thoughts.
