Some people argue that grandparents cannot give useful advice for their grandchildren as their opinions are outdated. However, I believe this is not true. It would actually be more advisable for young children to communicate with their grand parents to further their insight. Also, they can learn to interact with elderly.
First, by getting advice from grandparents, who are more experienced, young people can broaden their insights. What I mean by this is that, these days, young people do not have many opportunities to talk with those who have lived longer. Thus, they are not aware how insightful advice older people can provide to younger people. For example, I once had a chance to talk with my grandparents when I vistied their house. They talked about the Korean war and how Korea has overcame the economic and political chaos. Previously, I thought that these issues were irrelevant to our daily lives. However, ever since my grandparents had explained to me that Korean war is still continuing and one must realize its seriousness, I then became more interested in current South and North Korean relationship and armistice.
Second, young people can learn to interact with greater range of aged people. Nowadays, companies and educational institutions emphasize the ability to well integrate into groups and society. Compared to the past, being able to communicate with various others has become extremely significant. Increasingly, companies that collaborate with other business teams or invite guests look for competent workers that are also good at dealing with people. By getting advice from grandparents, grandchildren will not only obtain useful advice but they will also learn the ways to talk with others. Children will behave respectfully, and in this process will hone their demeanor of interacting with various people.
Lastly, some people argue that young children should follow a trendy line, learn new knoweldge from new environment. Notwithstandingly, as there are many things that can be learned from elderly grandparents, I believe it is advisable to interact with them. |
