▶ Your Answer :
Student’s intellectual, social and personal development is highly influenced by the amount of experience. With this understanding, I believe that students should take part-time jobs while they are studying in the university. This is because the job experience enables students to get rid of stress and prevent prejudiced thought to pursue the wrong values.
To begin with, it is needless to say that young people can relieve a great deal of stress accumulated from studying at school if they participate in part-time jobs outside the university. This is because most students living in modern society are often tied up with busy schedules and overwhelmed by enormous tasks at schools. They cannot get enough time to take a step back and refresh themselves and end up feeling frustrated and anxious. In effect, being away from studies for several hours having fun with part-time jobs is a good chance for students to recharge mentally. This is illustrated by a research conducted recently by Korean Psychological Association. The researchers at the association worked on a statistical experiment concerning the average level of stress school-aged children in contemporary society hold. According to the statistical figure, 75% of the participants currently engaging in part-time jobs in order to deal with the pressure from a surfeit of assignments and works are twice less likely to suffer from cancer than youngsters studying all the time. The result indicated on the experiment clearly proves that mitigating the stress level through part-time jobs is very significant since it will cause a serious disease in the end. Therefore, it is momentous for students to do manifold work experience since they need time to refresh their mind with part-time jobs.
Furthermore, a wide range of job experience can provide an effective outlet for students to refrain themselves from having close-minded thinking. This means, in general, it is misled by many parents that good grades are the one and only purpose for students to be happy in their lives. This mentality, unfortunately, makes students become very superficial and narrow-minded characteristics they will keep for the rest of their lives. According to the recent survey carried out by Hankook Research, one of the most reputed research institutes in Korea, 80% of the respondents attending in school answered that they value and accept the meaning of felicity in life into their circle of preferences for the sole reasons of whether or not they get good grades in university. Because of this tendency, the survey pointed out that the number of biased students had more than tripled in all aspects of creativity and ingenuity over the past five years. However, one of the most startling results coming to light from the survey is that a variety of part-time job experience can raise the possibility of doing away with stereotypes by 50%. So these people will be able to define the true attributes of happiness based on the fact that it is better for students to do diverse experience rather than on their false values of good grades. Consequently, it is part-time jobs that is the most important quality in being on top of the world compared to studies.
To sum up, studying all the time is not everything that is needed for students to be happier. I believe that it is crucial for students to do a lot of activities and experiences like part-time jobs for the following reasons: to alleviate the stress level and free students from narrow viewpoint. As a consequence, the importance of my view cannot be underestimated for the reasons I have mentioned above. |
