▶ Your Answer :
In
the reading passage, it would be difficult for people to live on Venus because
of several problems. However, the lecturer insists that it is possible to solve
the problems. This casts doubt on the reading passage’s point.
First,
the lecturer argues that high air pressure on Venus can be managed by some structures.
If people build space station at higher altitude far from the Venus’ surface,
the pressure becomes the same between the Earth and Venus. It leads to avoiding
crushing manmade structures. This is a solution of writer’s claim that the high
air pressure deters people from living on Venus.
Second,
the speaker insists that water or oxygen can be created by chemical reaction. By
using chemical compound, oxygen can be isolated and water can be made on Venus,
This address reading passage’s concern that living on Venus are implausible due
to no water and oxygen.
Finally,
the lecturer maintains that there is an alternative about problems of energy
production. The gas layer on Venus is not severe than people expected. People
can earn some energy from solar panels which are installed on space craft.
Also, considering slow orbit of Venus, people can contact sunlight at much
longer time. This is reaction of the reading passage’s claim that people cannot
make any energy because of the thick of gas layer.
