▶ Your Answer :Whether it is beneficial for children to make their own financial decisions or not is a controversial topic undergoing serious debate. two different opinions exist in regard to this issue. After considering the issue from several aspects, personally, I agree with the idea that it is better for children to make the decisions through their parents when they need something for the following two reasons. First is that children have no concept about money. Second is that it is possible that children are in danger due to having money. Some may oppose to the opinion, but first it assures that children may make their decision without thinking about money because they have no idea about how to use money. Many consider that we can teach them the notion of money. However, we cannot deny the fact that the conception of money is hard to be understood by the children. And although they can recognize the importance of how to use money, they can waste their money because of their impulse. There is nothing stronger that children’s impulse. For example, when I was little, my parent gave me some pocket money monthly and allowed me to use by myself. But I had no idea about the meaning of money. So, whenever I had desire to have something, I spent my money on buying them immediately. Finally, I was lack of money within a few days. I always pestered my parents for money. After some times, my parents didn’t give any pocket money. I had to have permission to buy something. In this case, we can find out that it can cause squandering money to entrust money to children. On top of that, children may have dangerous situation. It may not be favored by the majority of our society, but I believe that if children who don’t have as much power as they can protect their body have their own money, they can be in danger by bad people. Their money can be easily stolen, and they can be even hurt. According to the recent poll, the majority have agreed that they have experiences that they were stolen their money by older people when they are young. Even, some people said that they are not only stolen, but also injured. In addition, a well-known professor of Seoul National University in this field published an editorial in his study and as a result, his study supported my view. The survey claims that 75% of respondents preferred that children had better not take their own money, because having money can make them in danger. Also, the professor mentioned that some people like children who cannot keep their money from being stolen would rather not take money with them. To conclude, I strongly argue that my standpoints of the two reasons are sufficiently convincing. The first is that children may waste their money by lack of concept about money. Also, due to taking money, children are likely to be physically in danger. In this regard, I believe that it is not recommended for children to make their own financial decision. |
