There has a debate in recent times whether
youth people are informed by their friends than anyone else. I also agree with
the statement above. This is on account on the fact that not only do teenagers
spend a lot of their time with their friends, but also teenagers are susceptible to peer
pressure.
To begin with, youth people spend the bulk
of their time with their friends. In detail, nowadays, many parents are too
busy to care for their children, so most teenagers are likely to turn to their
friends. This can have a great influence on them. Let me give you an example
related my personal experience. When I was 14 years old, I spent a lot of time
with my friend. This is because my parents had to make money all day for new
house, so I always hung out with my friend except that I went to sleep. My friends
helped me learn sociology and do the homework by giving advice, and even they
listened to my worries. It was not the same as my parents can give to me.
Thanks to my friends, I was able to earn the best grades and have the
confidence in my school life.
On top of that, Teenagers are vulnerable to
peer pressure. To be specific, children are prone to be popular and want
recognition from their friends. This makes them engage in crime behavior. Let
me bring about my friend story. When I was 16 years old, I had my friend who
was Sue. She used to be very honest and polite before she made. However, when
sue made new friends in new class, she has become weird. She often sneaked her
class and continued truancy. The main problem was her new friends who got her
to change. This is because they always gave peer pressure to her, and Sue did
not want to get left behind from her friends. This case demonstrates that
adolescence is vulnerable to peer pressure.
To sum up, Teenagers tend to be influenced
by their friends than others. This is because they spend a majority of their
time to friends, and they are susceptible to peer pressure. In this regard, I
firmly believe, friends are one of most great types in term of impact during
the period of the adolescence. |
