Many people feel that the history courses are needless because they are not practical and useful for students. However, I disagree this opinion. This is because when students study the history, they are stimulated to study hard. Also, the history need for students' global lives.
First, by leaning learning about the history, students may be stimulated to study hard. In history classes, students can have chances to learn about not only historical incidents that their ancestors were suffered from the war against other countries and but also their countries' statues in the world. Thus, they may feel that they should be dedicated to improving their countries and this can allow them to do their best. To take a personal example, When I was a middle school student, I took a history class. One day, in the class, I learned about a war in my country with Japan which was against countries in the past. At that time, a great amount of people in my country were killed of the war because my country was weak and poor. During the class, I was especially sad because my grandfather was killed of that war. From this class, I realized that we had to improve our statue in order to live happily. (we나 our로 받지 마시고, Korean 이나 my country로 받으셔야 할 것같습니다.)And I hoped to contribute to improving my country
Second, in the age of globalzation, the history is necessary for students. Some people may say that learning the history is ironical in global the world because they think that economic or technology classes are more efficient for students.. However, learning the history is significantly important in modern society. This is because people who know about their origin and worth of it not only can compete with foreigners with confidence but also may cooperate each other even though they are in overseas. For example, an article deals with this issue. They introduce some family who live in oversea and they reveal tell the importance of whether people learn history or not.(reveal 은 사건의 전모를 밝힌다거나, 비밀스런 사건을 드러낼때 쓰이는 편이나, 문맥상과는 맞지 않는 것으로 보입니다.) While parents of family went to England after they graduated from college, their children have taken all education courses in the England. Parents who learned about history and their children who did not learn it show apparent gap in perspective about Korea, their motherland original country. While parents feel that Korean are the same blood people with them and should cooperate each other, their children have just a little care about them. From this article, I believe that difference in education courses that they take cause this gap. |
