For quite as long as I can remember, people have debated that a teacher's ability to relate well with student is more important than to give them knowledge. Some people argue that the most important teacher's duty is to give students knowledge. However, I strongly believe that a teacher's ability to relate well with student is more beneficial for student for the following two reasons. First, teacher-students good relationship contributes to student's academic success. Second, it is necessary for students to adjust to the period of the puberty.
First of all, good relationship among them contributes to student's accademic success.
Of course, It may be true that teacher's ability to give students knowledge is the main cause of student's academic success. However, students was motivated by relating with teacher. According to a research by the Korean Research Center, more than two-thirds of the surveyed students mentioned that they achieved the accademic success when they got along with their teacher, because teacher gave the best advice when they exhaused becasue of the heavywork. In this context, it is clear that a good relationship contributes to student's accademic success.
Second, it is necessary for students to adjust to the period of puberty.
The teenager year is difficult time to many students. In particular, the juvenile delinquency has increased for this period. So, good relationship between students and teacher prevent student from the risk of the juvenile deliquency. Take my experience as an example. When I was a middle school student, I was deppressd by the concern about the my future. Sometimes, I thought that life is invaluable for me. However, my englishi teacher always gave me warm word, so I took encourage. Now, I grew up a desirable student. In this regard. it is abvious that relationship with teacher is important for student to adjust to the teenager year.
For these reason, I strongly believe that teacher's ability to relate well with student is more important than to give them knowledge.
