Give reasons to support your answer.
According to the research conducted by Professor Ha Park, Seoul National University, the generally accepted idea that children enjoy more when playing with a large number of friends is fraudulent. According to her, what influences one's comfort is not related to the number of friends, but relationships among them. This study received criticism from many pundits of the field and raised controversy in a national scale, rendering people to think about which choice they prefer. I completely agree with her and, I personally prefer spending time with close friends. In this writing, I will compare the advantages of each choice and give reasons for my preference.
To begin with, the advantage of spending time with one or two friends is that I feel more comfortable. Differently put, whenever I have problems or any kinds of difficulties, I can easily bring up the problems and get some advice from them. Since I have known most of my close friends for a long time, they understand me better than any other person, and know what decision best suits me. So by spending time with few of my close friends, I can discuss private topics with them without any discomfort. On the other hand, when spending time with a lot of friends, I can experience things that I could not have, if I were with one or two close friends. To be more specific, not only do they have diverse experiences, but also we can do activities that needs certain number of people. By spending time with many friends, I will be able to enjoy myself with extended range of recreation.
Moreover, despite the advantages each choice has, I prefer spending time with one or two close friends. This is because I can develop deep friendships with them. When I am playing with many friends, I cannot share secrets or talk about serious things because of others' interrupting. However, when I spend time with one or two close friends, I can have serious talk with them which would make our relationship deeper and tighter. Moreover, decisions can be easily made when spending time with one or two close friends. Even though hanging out with many friends is exciting in that it keeps the atmosphere alive, it would be too crowded to decide on which place to go and which time to meet at. It would be easier with fewer people around when making important decisions.
To conclude, even though two options each has its own advantages, I prefer the first one. Not only can I develop my friendships but also easily make decisions when spending time with one or two close friends. |
