Education has been recognized as significant enough to determine the future of one nation. The quality of education mainly depends on teachers, so many specialists emphasize on the various merits of teachers. Among the merits, someone consider the ability to relate well with students more important than the ability to give knowledge. I agree this statement because students can get information from other methods, not from teacher and a good relationship with students helps students socialize better. First of all, many methods to educate have developed. For instance, student can use the source in the Internet. The Internet includes uncountable articles and users can learn lots of knowledge as just clicking. Furthermore, this system applies to home schooling which do not need teachers. Although teachers have limited ability such as less knowledge and restrictive contacts, alternative methods are favorable. Really, the video clips providing lectures on the web are so popular that some students consider this method better than teacher’s teaching. So to speak, the importance of teacher’s ability to deliver knowledge has decreased. In addition, teachers can influence on the socialization of students through proper relationships. A school has a pivotal role to make student adapt to society. It is because students interplay with teachers. In this process, they can learn how to live with others. Helen Keller can be a good example. She was so handicapped that she could not have appropriate relationships with others. However, her teacher, Ms. Sullivan helped socialize. It required patience, but Ms. Sullivan did not give up. As a result, Helen could be a great member of one society enough to help other poor people. In conclusion, the ability to keep good relationship with students is more important that the one to provide knowledge as a teacher for the reasons that I have mentioned above. Then, students can contribute to the society much better as a member of one society. |
