Some people believe that students’ room
condition has nothing to do with students’ achievement. However, I believe that
students with tidy rooms achieve greater success than those with messy rooms.
In the following paragraphs, I will explain the reasons why I think this way.
To begin with, students with tidy rooms can
save time. Today’s students have a lot of things to do, so they do not have
enough time to study. Therefore, it is very important for students to use time
efficiently. Considering this, students can benefit from tidy rooms. This is
due to the fact that students with tidy rooms can find what they want, such as
textbooks and pens, very easily, so they do not have to waste time. As a
result, they can study more with the saved time than those with messy ones so that
they can get better grades, which help students be favored in the job market, than
those with messy ones. My personal experience can be a good example. I recently
prepared for my final exam. Because my room was very dirty and messy, I always
used a lot of time to find textbooks. One day, my best friend advised me to
make my room organized, so I did so. After that, I could find what I wanted to
find very easily, so I could save much time. As a result, I could spend more
time studying and this made me get a good grade.
On top of that, students with tidy rooms
can focus on study better than those with messy ones. When students study,
concentration is the most important thing of all. If students are not able to
focus on what they study, they would waste a lot of time without remembering anything.
Considering this, tidy rooms are beneficial to students. This is attributed to
the fact that students can study more efficiently when they study in tidy rooms
than when they study in messy rooms. As a result, students studying in tidy
rooms can spend time more efficiently so that they can get good grades. A study
conducted by Tokyo University demonstrates this is true. Researchers performed
the study with 150 students of similar ability. Half of the students were
required to study in tidy rooms, but the other half were required to study in
messy rooms. Then, researchers asked all the students to take an exam. The
result of the exam was that, in general, the students who studied in tidy rooms
got higher grades than the students who studied in messy rooms.
To sum up, tidy rooms are helpful to
students because students with tidy room can save time and concentrate on
studying better. In this regard, I firmly believe that students with organized
rooms tend to attain greater success than those with messy ones.
