Some people think that the most important things the government
should do to improve the quality of life is not to protect the environment, but something else. However, I believe that protecting
the environment is the most important things the government should do to
improve the quality of life. This is because protecting the environment enables
people to relieve stress and enjoy the quality
of life.
First, protecting the environment
allows people to relieve stress. Understanding the daily environment of people
and potential role of preserved environment is necessary to substantiate this
view. Every morning, once they are at work, they have to endure countless
documents and continue to read more even at home. Such an
exhausting routine repeats itself and eventually
wears down people. As a way to manage to the ensuing stress, people can breathe
fresh air in their life with friends. Even if it is only for a short time, this
frees their minds from the intense mental pressure from work. In this regard, I
learned that protecting the environment promotes
people to relieve stress.
Second, protecting the environment motivates people to enjoy a higher quality of life. Interestingly, a renowned
social scientist in South Korea published an article in “The Korean Herald”
last Tuesday which claims that protecting the environment
provides meaningful opportunities for people to connect with their peers.
Essentially, preserved environment promotes activities that encourage people to
openly interact with one another such as taking a walk in the park. Such
intercommunication builds a platform not only to mingle with friends but also
create lasting memories, allowing people to become more socially aware and
ultimately enjoy a better quality of life.
To sum up, I believe that
protecting the environment is the most important things the government
should do to improve the quality of life for the
following reasons: to relieve stress and enjoy a better quality of life.
Consequently, the importance of my view cannot be underestimated for the
reasons I have mentioned above.
