▶ Your Answer : Some people think that families do not need to eat meals together. However, in my opinion, this perspective is not true for two reasons. First of all, if we have meals with our family members, family affection would be stronger. In addition, our health would be improved. To begin with, we can have family member’s attention when we eat meals together. Because most families talk about their schedules and everyday life during meal time. Moreover, they share their recent concerns each other and often sincerely, they make a strong attempt to solve their problems. As a result, we can feel others' attachment. For example, I did not eat meals with my family before my father had retired. However, after his retirement, our family really tries to have meal time together. Recently, our family eat meals together at least five times a week and we care more about each other than we did in the past. On top of that, having meals with family is significant to our health. If we eat alone, we may skip a meal because it is tiresome to make a meal for myself. But skipping a meal is detrimental to health. On the other hand, when we have meal time with our family, we take care of other members’ meal and endeavor to eat together on time. Furthermore, since it takes longer time to have meals with family, eating slowly would be more beneficial to health. For instance, according to the survey conducted by UCLA’s research department, about 79 percent of the participants reported that their health has gotten better after they started to have meal time with their family. They said that this is because they eat at consistent time. Consequently, having meal time with family on a regular basis is helpful to health. To sum up, eating with family makes our family relationship and health much harder. In this regard, I believe families should share meal time together. |
