▶ Your Answer :
I
think that teachers should not be paid according to students' performance. One
reason is because that teacher would not focus on educating students'
personality and senses of values. and the other reason is that teachers cannot
increase students' performance by using only their efforts.
To
begin with, this issue is like double-edged sword. It is also true that the
upper policy will make teachers more focus on students' performance. However, I
think the disadvantages is far weight than advantages concerning teachers might
focus on only students’ performance not on students’ personality and senses of
values. For example, there was a survey conducted by Seoul national university
in 2016, with 5,000 students as respondents. The purpose of the poll was that
whether paying teachers according to students' performance is good for students
or not. An overwhelming 94% students responded It is not beneficial for them.
Because teachers might not focus on enhancing students’ personality and senses
of values.
On
top of that, students’ performance is related to not only teachers' efforts but
also students' own. Imagine only teachers do own's efforts but students do not
anything. It would be possible teachers make students’ performance increase?
the answer will be "no". Therefore, evaluating teachers' pay by using
only students' performance is not fair. The best example of this is my uncle's
story. He is very component teacher. When he was in gangnam high school, he
made many students' performance improve. However he had went another school,
hankook high school. In there, students never studied hard. Therefore, He could
help students increase their performance, in spite of his diligent efforts.
This shows that evaluating teachers' pay by using only students' performance is
unfair.
To
sum up, I believe that deciding teachers' pay according to students'
performance is not a good idea. |
