▶ Your Answer :
Both reading and listening passage discuss
about the wave-energy. However, their perspectives are different. The reading
passage asserts that there is optimistic perspective of wave-energy facilities,
while the listening disagrees with the following passage and says otherwise.
First
of all, the reading passage states that wave-energy facilities is quite
dependable generator of power. To be more specific, it is easy to apply based
on the annual patterns of wave. However, the speaker in listening passage
debunks that there will be disruption on this pattern since the marine environment
is quite harsh. This could make the facilities to be malfunction.
Second, the reading further describes that wave-energy
facilities is eco-friendly. To prove this point. the passage says these
facilities do not burn the fossil fuels and emit the harmful fuels. On the
other hand, the listening contradicts by stating the chemicals, which are widely
used in turbine and other parts of facilities that allows them to move freely, can
be leaked into the ocean. Thus, this would contaminate the ocean.
Lastly, the reading contends that there is no
negative impact on natural surrounding as means of their appearances. Since it
is small compared to other energy facilities and is located underneath of the
ocean so it is invisible to the people. The listening argues this otherwise by
saying the wave-energy facilities need to be painted in bright color. This
allows people to see through the ocean and easily spotted to the tourists.
