Many people spend their leisure time going to trips nowadays. Especially, most of them prefer to go abroad. Regarding this issue, there has been a controversy about whether a person who travels in his or her country will gain more than a person who travels abroad. Some people argue that people who travels in their country will get more than people who travels abroad. However, I believe that going to trip abroad has more benefits than going to traveling his or her own country because it has gives more opportunity to learn English and it improves your networking.
First of all, travelling abroad makes you improve your English skills. In other words, A person who travels abroad has numerous chances to use English, because English is the common language in of the world. I would like to illustrate this with a personal example. Over a year ago, I planned an excursion to an African city by using the information I found about the region on a blogger's web site. An American blogger residing in the area posted detailed information about the city on his blog in English. To understand about the city, I had to read the information of the blog in English. Furthermore, I could not help using had to continuously use English when I went to the city. So, my English skills naturally got better and better. If I had gone to a trip to my country, I could not have improved my English. Likewise, going to a trip abroad is better than going to my country.
Besides, it helps you broaden your network. To be specific, when you go abroad, it is very easy for you to make new friends. According to a survey done by Yonsei University, 82% of the participants interviewed responded that going abroad is very helpful in making new friends. It can be inferred that a person who travels abroad is easier to broaden his or her network than a person who travels in his or her country. (앞서 인용한 통계(해외여행에만 국한된 내용)에서 이런 결론(국내 여행과 해외여행을 비교)을 이끌어내는 것은 비약입니다.) Consequently, a person who travels abroad has more advantages more than a person who travels in his or her country.
In conclusion, travelling abroad is more beneficial than travelling in his or her own country. Not only does it have more chances to practice English, but it also makes your network broader. Although some people say that going to on a trip abroad is worse than going to his or her own country, I strongly believe that a person who travels abroad will gain more than a person who travels in his or her country.
