Some countries legislate against the selective
reception of applications at the labor market. (<- 나이라는 점이 구체적으로 언급되어야 해요.) I believe this is positive
development as it prevents discrimination occurring in the work places as well
as people can have more chances to search for a the new career. To begin with, forbidding any rejection of
applications based on their age is a right decision because it contributes to
the practice of equality in society. In fact, the idea of giving everyone the
same opportunity is considered to be reasonable universally, and it is
specified by the United Nations according to the agreement on human rights. This
shows that pursuing equality in terms of opportunity is accepted worldwide. In
this regard, the Korean government is promoting blind recruit, which does not require
any information on age and gender except qualification to applicants.
Secondly, opening the door to applicants
with all ages is recommendable as it provides people who are likely to be unemployed
due to their age with a new career opportunity. Before the legislation, it must
have been almost impossible for them to apply for major corporations. However, due to the new law, those with needs are encouraged to search
for the opportunity. Take the example of a person who has failed in his business in
late 30’s though he still needs regular income to earn a living of his family. Now he
can consider to work as a salary man as one of the alternatives.
In brief, it is necessary for employers to
receive any applications from job seekers regardless of their age. In can not
only contribute to society by practicing the value of the same opportunity for
all, but also help individuals who are desperate to find a new opportunity (혹은 new opportunities).
