Q. Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
it is true that nations need to spend the amount of budget on public transportation rather than constructing new roads. Although car users might be interested in the latter, countries should take long-term benefits into account for the future.
All countries are responsible for making a better life, particularly in relation to welfare system. Increasing railways gives a chance to reduce traffic congestion. Trains or subways are relatively punctual and quick compared to other transportation like buses or taxis, which makes people become taking railways more in rush hours. In addition, new routes of railways enable a lot of region to be connected to other cities being far away each other. Therefore, every people can move easily conveniently and comfortably even when people have to go across the large territory.
Above all, nations throughout the world should consider the environment to be a top priority. If they implement Eco-friendly policy to prevent air pollution from increasing, It would be better to spend money on public transportation instead of enlarging roads. A large number of cars emit exhaust gas everywhere and it makes people suffer from respiratory diseases like asthma and lung problem. Moreover, severe air pollution is more likely to speed global warming up. This is because huge amount of CO2 is released by cars and make trouble in atmosphere not to circulate well.
To conclude, for the reasons mentioned above, I totally agree that governments need to allocate more budget in developing railways because of the convenience of railways and the better environment for the future.
