Q. Some people insist that the world would be a better place if everyone spoke the same language. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
There is a controversy about whether using the same language can make every people's life better or not. Even though there can be some benefits like the international convenience, I would argue that people around the world should alert losing their important values.
There are some elements that are valuable above just communication by the same language. First of all, the non verbal word is integral during communication, which can include body language, eye contact, or the tone of voice. Even if people speak the same language, there can be happened the misunderstanding without above factors. Also, in many countries it can be difficult to protect their nationals in terms of work opportunity. More and more people would compete in every parts, so it is a doubt that only unifying the language can make a better life.
Above all, the most critical reasons is that the tradition from many other countries can be threatened. Language is the source of power that a country exists. It symbolizes the sense of pride and plays an significant role in understanding the culture and history of the country. People try not to repeat the mistake that was taken in the past, so they should know the history and language of their country and teach them for their posterity.
In conclusion, I totally disagree with this opinion for the reason that each language from every other countries is valuable more than just communication.
