In these days, since parents in cities are getting interested in the methods of upbringing their children, they want to educate them as possible as they can. It is a known fact that children at certain ages absorbing and achieving excessively well than any other ages. Due to such a point, they send their kids to language schools or abroad. Learning second language brings more advantages, but we must be cautious because of a traumatic matter.
First of all, the education of the second language is not only to let them have an extra ability but also a valuable chance to understand other cultures. Because any languages hold its own traditions, thoughts, appreciations, and even the national characters, learning second language promote children to enrich its customs as well. Eventually, it influences the relationship among nations.
Secondarily, the more countries have commercial intercourse together, the more we are getting globalized. Nowadays being apart of globalization is necessary to the economic aspect of one’s nation. For instance, a company in Korea that sells one of energy drinks, named with Baccas, once tried to expand its business by exporting the drinks to Saudi where were a great deal of demands. However, the supplements were rejected at a port in Saudi to deliver to an agency because of the meaning of name, The God of alcohol. Such a case led the company to enormous loss of finance and time.
In the mean while, studying another language would interrupt the functions of children brains when they start to learn second language before a mother language. Children’s being exposed by multi languages at early ages potentially causes their abilities not only to slow but also to suffer traumas. Thus, it could be worthless depending on when they learn second languages.
In conclusion, I perceive studying second languages as good methods for children because it gives them the opportunities of understanding foreign cultures and contributing economic growths to their countries. However, those good results can dependently happen when knowing a mother language comes to the first. Thus, all parents who put their children to study foreign languages have responsibilities to decide an appropriate time for starting. |
