Many people insist that high school should offer art classes to students. However, I personally believe that while art classes can improve their sense of creativity, it is a waste of time for an individual.
To begin with, it is clear that some students feel boring about having art classes. This is because they have no interest in art classes. Therefore they don't take class or sleeping during the class. It is a waste of time for them. For example, if schools provide various subjects, they take courses that they want to learn and then they will attend these classes as well. As a result, people don't force students what they don't have any interest. That can lead to a negative outcome.
Moreover, foreign languages such as English, French, Japanese and so on are more beneficial than art. This is because second languages can utilize many fields. If we learn foreign languages it is very useful in society. Furthermore, many companies prefer to hire multilingual people so it is very good merit for them who want to enter that company. For example according to the survey, in South Korea, many students like to learn second languages like English, Chinese, and Japanese, etc rather than art. As a result, learning foreign languages is more effective in students' future rather than having art classes.
In conclusion, providing compulsory art classes for high school students is a contentious topic because there are opinions that support and oppose this basic idea. However, I personally believe that high school students should take courses that they want because it will be more helpful in the future. |
