The bar chart illustrates how much time was spent on different types of phone calls in the UK between 1995 and 2002. As an overall trend, the most amount of time was used for local fixed line phone calls in the whole period.
The time of using local calls was just over 70 billion minutes in 1995. It gradually increased until 1999, when it marked about 90 billion minutes. After then, it showed gradual decrease until 2002 to the initial number. The second most frequently used phone calls were national and international fixed lines. The time spent in this category was just under 40 billion minutes in 1995, which is about a half of that of local calls, but then it steadily rose during the given period and reached at about 60 billion minutes in the end. The third and the least used type was mobile calls. It was also the category that showed the most dramatic change among three types. In 1995, only about 4 billion minutes were spent by mobile phone calls, but then it slowly increased until 1999, when it showed more than 10 billion minutes. After 1999, the time used by mobiles rapidly increased in the rest of the period, except for 2002 when the pace of increasing was a little slowed down. Similar to the time spent on national and international calls, it represents steady rise during the whole time between 1995 and 2002.
