The first pie chart compares six sectors in terms of water use of Australia in the year 2004. The second one gives information about the figures for residential purposes of water consumption in Australia in the same year.
It is clear that the majority of water consumption in Australia accounted for residential purposes which are apartments and houses. Among the five features, bathroom had by far the highest proportion contributing to residential water use.
In 2004, much more than half of the total water consumed for houses ,at 57% , while the figure for apartment was 13% of the total, followed by industry, at 11%. By contrast, the water used by government (6%) was the lowest amount.
Among the residential use of water in 2004, the main purposes that water was consumed for were bathroom and garden, at 28% and 27% respectively. On the other hand, the smallest amount water used for kitchen, at 10%.
