Your Answer ▼ Today, it is common that young students
work for part-time jobs while they study in school at the same time. Some
people believe that this leads students to acquire essential capacities for
their future career. However, I firmly consist that there are more
disadvantages of it since they can ruin their school lives. On the one hand, teenagers can be taught vocational
virtues at work in advance. They can get accustomed to social skills which cannot
be learned in class or from teachers. Take the example of requirements for working
at a restaurant. Employees should respond to customers' demands and troubles.
Plus, they have to be punctual for a business and have a responsibility for
their duties. In these circumstances, teenagers can understand how to handle
problems and get well-mannered so that they can outdo others when they get
full-time jobs in the future. On the other hand, teenage students working and studying
simultaneously can miss what they should do in school. That is to say, they might not be able to
balance their jobs and daily lives as students due to a lack of time and fatigue. For instance, students cannot
concentrate on school courses because they are worn out from workload and
have no time to prepare for examinations to gain good marks. Also, they cannot
enjoy hanging out with their classmates after school. Of course, knowing about the outer
world away from class is helpful, but interacting with peers and focusing on
scholastic achievement are more vital for people at young ages.
To sum up, while allowing teenagers to work for part-time jobs can be beneficial, it is evident that disadvantages of it outweigh
advantages because students cannot pay attention to their school lives. |
