Today many men and women work as full-time professions. Some people believe that they both are equally responsible for housework, while others think that it does not have to be equal. I agree with that both should use their time and energy on daily jobs at home. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons in detail.
Firstly, both men and women are responsible heavily at work, so no one in particular should not be asked more at home. These same hard-working people have no time to fully devote to housework. They do not even prioritise it. When they come back home, they spend most of their time on preparing the next day. Because of their own workload, they cannot help but share housework. Sometimes they believe the only way to solve the problem is coming home late at night to minimise housework. However, this makes them suffer even more lack of time to deal with remained housework. Thus, sharing more housework will work.
Secondly, as every people are not safe from stress at work, sharing responsibilities at home is recommended to save their mental health. Even though men or women are less responsible at work, it does not mean that they are less stressed. Stressed people need a care from others and time to recharge their energy. If housework is not well shared, they can feel stress more often, and then their mental problems will lead to physical symptoms. It is not because it is fair. It is because there will be no one else to do the job if they get sick at home. Thus, sharing housework can be done to avoid sharing stress.
Lastly, for married men and women, it is more acceptable to share house chores when they have a baby that demands their entire self. Many couples already know the importance of doing housework together. They share almost every mundane works to make more time to take care of their baby. Sometimes they even have to call their parents and friends to share their housework with. If it is not properly shared, they might need another help. They might need more time and energy from the same people again and again. Thus, it is inevitable to share housework for both men and women to find comfort at home.
In conclusion, sharing housework makes sense for busy people because it can save them from overwork and its related harmful effects. When responsibilities at work and at home are equally divided to men and women, they both will be able to live each given day with full energy. |
