It is a common belief that purchasing
imported products has many advantages in social or economic aspects. However,
it is also true that consuming domestic products has a positive effect and it
is more suitable for the healthy dietary life of local people.
On the one hand, purchasing imported agricultural products gives consumers
various choices that can fulfill their variety various of desires for taste and also it
can also improve the agricultural economy itself. For example, 15 years ago, the
majority of products in the rice market were domestic products, while the total
consumption of rice was decreasing. But, (문장을 and but so 로 시작해서는 안 됩니다.) after opening trade, rice imported
from abroad to the Korean market. Now, there are many types of rice are available
in the market such as Koshihikari from Japan. It attracted people’s attention
to rice, resulting in an increase overall purchase amounts of rice increased.
Nevertheless, I believe that consuming domestic products is better for local
people because they are generally suitable for the healthy dietary life of
indigenous people. This is because their ancestors have used local products to
make food for generations. Imported products could not be proper to
make traditional food. Because, because some types of groceries from abroad can have
different taste of features even though they are called the same name. This is
because they are evolved in different ways to adapt to different environments. For
these reasons, using local agricultural products to make authentic local food
will be proper for people living there. And (여기 역시 마찬가지로, and but so 로 문장을 시작해서는 안 됩니다.) also, the chemicals that are used to
keep vegetables and fruit fresh while they are importing could affect harmful
for human body.
To sum up, while it is apparent that purchasing imported agricultural products
gives consumers various choices, it is undeniable that consuming domestic
products is the best way for indigenous people.
