It is a common belief that a legal restraint
is essential in order to increase recycling from home. I firmly believe that the government should enforce a law to encourage people to recycle because this way
is the most effective and the only measure to increase the amount of recycling waste.
To begin with, the amount of household
recycling is not enough and the government should enact a law that all
renewable sources such as paper, plastic, and glass should be recycled and they
should impose a heavy fine on people who do not recycle the materials. In this
way, the amount of recycling would exponentially surge. For example, in Korea,
there is a regulation related to waste. All people have to put their household
waste in a standard plastic garbage bag and they should recycle other reusable materials.
The people in the nation should follow this rule and those who disobey the law will
be fined. As a result, the number of residents who recycle has skyrocketed, showing
the great number of household recycling.
government law is the strongest way to improve recycling which preserves the
environment.
In addition, if the government does not make
the law, people would never voluntarily recycle, resulting in a stable or less recycling
proportion. For instance, in the United States where the government does not make
the law for recycling, the people do not recycle and throw away all of the waste
at one trash bin. Even though some organisations have implemented eco-friendly campaigns
to promote recycling, Americans' awareness of recycling has not increased
at all. This is because they do not feel cautious toward preserving the environment
but they just pursue their convenience. This implies that the government legal action
is the only way to help the environment and boost people to recycle.
In conclusion, I strongly assert that in
order to promote recycling, the government should force people to follow a legal
action related to recycling, which is the sole solution to carry out recycling.
