University lecturers are now able to put their lectures on the Internet for students to read, and so, the importance of attending face-to-face lectures has been reduced. Do you believe the use of the Internet in formal education is a good idea? What future effects will the Internet have an academic study?
Recently, while the significance of relationship between students and lectures has been reducing, most professors would like to put their lectures on their Web sites. Personally, I completely believe that it is necessary for university students for some reasons.
First of all, class materials on the Internet can help students' understanding about lectures to be widened. This is mainly because they are able to read them many times through reviewing if they could not follow the class. To be specific, when lecture room in a university is so huge that almost students can not concentrate on the lecture perfectly, they would go to any places where it is available Internet and could read the missed part of the lecture and grasp it thoroughly. Additionally, students can put some questions related to lectures on the professor's homepage and solve their curiosities. Therefore, most pupils would be able to comprehend their study absolutely and be satisfied with it.
In addition, much more people would obtain university degree easily in comparison with attending face-to-face lectures. For example, people who do not have enough time to study, such as working wife, employees and those living in rural area, would catch an opportunity to study through distance learning. They do not need to come to university by themselves to see lectures, therefore, learning through the Internet would allow a large number of pupils anywhere and anytime to make an effort on studying.
In conclusion, I definitely think that learning through computers has more advantages than attending in a lecture of college and it could be more popular and formal education in the future.
