Overall, as time went by, the proportion of profits from comedy increased, while that for drama decreased between 1995 and 2005. The amounts of revenue from thriller, musicals and animation were lower than those from the other genres throughout the period.
Looking at the chart more closely, the percentages for comedy movie profits went up consistently from 20% to just over 25% by 25% points between 1995 and 2005. By contrast, the figures for action and drama fell constantly from just over 15% to nearly 13% and from about 27% to around 15% over the period. It is notable that the percentage of profits made from adventure went down from roughly 17% to approximately 10% between 1995 and 2000, but it skyrocketed to just under 25% by closely 15% points by 2005. In terms of earning of the others, they were not more than 10% and did not show dramatic changes in three years given, compared with the other four genres.
