Some people do not understand the importance of arts in life and disagree with government investment in it. I have a different opinion from theirs. In this essay, I will discuss the reason why I believe that arts needs financial support.
Arts as entertainment can improve lives of people. Some forms of arts are efficient to chance negative feelings to positive ones. This emotional shift can cause them to behaviour in a better way and will ultimately affect their entire life. For example, some people watch happy movies when their life is a nightmare. By doing so, they find a way to see their life completely differently to change the circumstance they stuck in. Without this advanced form of arts and support behind them, each individuals may have to pay even more to do the same.
Also, governments should preserve arts as national heritage. Artworks in itself is valuable, but the artists who produced it should also be respected in the same way. This is because they are ancestors, and through their works, people today see their own selves. For example, Henri Matisse in France had lived in the similar environment to the one today. His works reflect his own life in a society with full of uncertainty. If there was not sufficient effort to protect his works, today’s people might not able to be inspired from it.
In conclusion, governments should spend more money on arts. Arts is something irreplaceable because it is the most efficient way to access to people’s live more closely to improve it. |
