The reading passage said that self-employment is appealing because we could have flexibility on choosing hours, the location and the working conditions. But the speaker argues that it’s not actually flexible. It’s true that we can be flexible if we self-employment, but it also means that we get to sacrifice our time on the work instead of spending time on our family, friend and things we want to do for leisure. Self-employment would make people work more than they do in their general workplace because they have to handle everything by themselves. If they are not working, it means no money coming at all.

The reading passage also emphasized that the money they earn is all theirs. Yes, it is pretty indeed. But we get to remember that we are responsible of retirement. We won’t have any money for the retirement from the company we used to work at. Many things that are generally handled in the company have to be handled by themselves.

Finally the reading passage urged that being own boss would enable us to control all decisions at work. But the speaker counteracts by saying that it is not worthy to be boss. Being a boss is very burdensome and quiet stressful because everything has to be handled and controlled alone themselves. It is wasting time.
