The period of life that people feel the happiest differs by people idea of people who feel happier and which period have more enjoying moment in their life is different. A proportion of the population opines that the level of happiness among young people is greater than older ones. The rest of the population, however, raise a counterargument that adult life is better. This essay will evaluate both arguments and give a concluding viewpoint. On the one hand, an advocate of the first statement may argue that because adolescents feel more free and less bored than adults. This, in these people’s opinion, most teens would have enjoyed a great sense of freedom during their college days or school days. To be specific, unlike adults who have to take care of their children and earn money for to make a living, young people spend their childhood with less concerns such as studying. In addition, life in childhood can be more exciting since they have better health condition and less fear than older ones. For example, they have less failed experiences which make them to challenge adventurous activities such as skydiving. On the other hand, I am the opinion of those who contend that more benefits can be gained in adulthood even if they have more responsibilities than young people. In fact, although adults need to be held accountable for their behaviors, they have no limitation when choosing from what they want to do. They can determine their jobs, home location, and their hobbies based on their opinion while young people are under control from their parents. For example, my niece moved to a the new house away from the old one even though she did not want to because of her lifelong friends. (가족으로 인해~라는 점이 예시에도 전제가 되어야겠죠.) Also, there is a curfew for young people. Furthermore, although are usually breadwinner who need to earn much money, they have economic ability, having a chance to buy what they want to. Therefore, such factors prove that older people feel more satisfied with their lives.
In conclusion, having taken both views of this argument, both young and old people feel happy in different reasons but, in my opinion, an adult's life has more benefits that make them feel happier as they have financial ability and independent lives. |
