The
idea of replacing teacher’s role by computers has always been a subject of
debate. Some people think that the role of teachers will be reduced by
computers. However, I disagree with the idea that extensive use of computers in
schools will replaces the role of teachers.
To
begin with, students learn not only common curriculum but also social norms, balanced
diets, and socialization. Computers cannot teach this field because it requires the interaction of teachers or peers of being necessary
to interact to the teachers and peers. For example, many students use school
lunch, so teachers and dietitian teach the balanced meals. Also studies have
proven that adolescent crime rate has increased for consecutive 10 years. To
solve this issue, teachers must teach social norms and valid personality. This has
played an important role in modern society and learning social a society rules is
impossible to learn by using computers.
Another
significant reason is that computers cannot teach subjects that require
emotional understanding or physical activities such as music, art, physical education.
Even though many pupils can learn basic skills by using the Internet such as
YouTube or searching an article, they cannot would notbe likely to understand the emotional
field. This is because the emotional understanding is created through interacting interaction
with the teachers. For example, many successful artiest have mentors or teachers
who interacting with them.
In
conclusion, computers help the students to learn basic skills or interesting
field. However, computers cannot replace everything. For these reasons, my view
on this issue is that computers cannot replace teacher’s role.
