It can be argued
that TV programs have hugely impacts on youngsters’ behavior. However, others
say that the quantity of time they watch TV would more affect on them. My personal
view is that both opinions would have negative influences on young people.
It is true that today’s
TV contents are various and included in violence, racism and sexual crimes to
attract people’s attention and those would certainly be detrimental effects on
youngsters. Since almost all children tend to strongly imitate to something
interesting, they might learn crimes or violence which would be potential
hazard on them and society. Aside from that, there are a lot of exaggerative
and false advertising showing on TV which would affect their spending habits.
For example, once they watch commercials about fast-food or fancy toys, they
are more likely to ask their parents to buy the items blindly.
Correspondingly,
the amount of time children watch also influences on their health and behaviors.
Firstly, a child who is seating in front of TV for a long time is more likely
to be obesity and physically weak. In the modern society, a child obesity
disease is one of the major issues and a lot of parents get worried about those
problems. In addition to that, almost all children show lack of concentration
and make a trouble in social relationship. By watching TV late at night, they
have irregular sleeping patterns and insufficient sleep which would cause them acting
aggressive to others.
In conclusion,
it seems to me that both negative TV contents and the amount of time youngsters
watch would be harmful impacts on their behaviors. That is why they need to be
taught and control watching television.
