The chart depicts changes of three kinds of
crime which occurred in Newport City centre from 2003 to 2012. Overall, the
number of burglary fluctuated the most in ten years, while that of robbery remained relatively stable.
To look into details, the cases of robbery cases, that
is, theft from people, recorded the lowest throughout the given period. In 2008
there were about 500 incidents of robbery, which is the smallest number of this
case, whereas in 2005 it went up to roughly 800.
Incidents of burglary varied the most during
the decade, presenting the largest number in 2004 with approximately 3,800 (네 자리를 넘어갈 경우 쉼표를 넣는 것도 엄연한 문법의 일종이므로 꼭 넣어주세요~설령 표에는 쉼표가 되어있지 않더라도 마찬가지입니다.) cases,
and the smallest in 2008 with around 1200 cases. Until 2006 burglary was the
crime committed the most among the three categories of crime, but as it fell
drastically, it became the second largest crime from 2007.
On the other hand, the number of car theft which
took place in 2004 was the highest record of this crime and the lowest was in
2006, with roughly 2900 incidents and 2100 incidents respectively. This class
of crime became the most frequent crime in the centre since 2007, while it was
less than burglary until 2006.
