The line graph provided gives information
about the number of visits to and from the UK between 1979 and 1999 and the bar
chart illustrates the preference countries that the UK people have visited in
the five countries.
Overall, both visits to and from the UK
experienced an upward trend starting from beginning to the end of the period.
Also, it was noticeable that most UK residents prefer to go to France and
Spain. It accounted for almost 80% out of total.
In 1979, the numbers of visits by UK
residents and to the UK by international residents were almost the same about
12 and 10-millions respectively. However, in about 1985, the figures of UK
travelers showed a significant increase to approximately 30-millions in 1988 and
it continued to rose and hit a peak point of 55-millions in 1999. Additionally,
overseas travel from other countries to the UK showed a gradual climb to 15
millions in 1986 and it experienced slightly steady to nearly 25-millions at
the end of the period.
Based on the statistic data in 1999, one of
the most populated countries where UK residents wanted to go was France with
about 11 millions, which were an overwhelmingly large portion, and the
second-largest country was Spain, about 9 millions, and the visitors to the
rest of countries were only about 8.5 millions in total. It was not able to
reach France’s figures. |
